And as for impeachment, we're working on it. Of course since McConnell has no compunctions about being complicit with a law breaker, with any luck we can vote both of them out of office instead
That's cute when someone from Colorado thinks he can vote McConnell out of office.
How ya coming with that impeachment thingy?
What do you think is the main reason why Trump won't turn over his tax returns?
Reason #1 - To troll the mentally ill left wing lunatics.
The constitutionalist, could careless what he made, or how much he paid in income tax.
It is the butthurt and insane lunatic left, that needs something to virtue signal about.
They have got to share their misery with the world.
Meh...the DOJ sent Congress and their subpoenas packing last month, saying, in effect, it was quite clear to them that Congress was lying about having a legitimate legislative purpose in requesting these tax returns. The cat got out of the bag, obviously, when Congress subpoenaed six years of Trump's tax returns, under the transparent pretext of analyzing presidential tax audit procedures.
Of course, at the time the subpoena was issued, Trump had only been president for two years, not six, revealing the whole gambit to be a canard. If Congress had really deemed it necessary to subpoena six years of presidential tax returns for their stated purpose of reviewing presidential tax audit procedures, they would obviously have demanded Obama's tax returns for the last four years of his administration, in addition to the two years of returns Trump filed while president.
The DOJ rightly judged that the actual purpose of the Congressional request was to obtain Trump's tax returns for the express purpose of leaking them to the public, and they steadfastly refused to go along with the charade. I know we'll both agree that the DOJ arrived at absolutely the correct decision in this case, given that the Ways & Means Committee blatantly lied about why they wanted the tax returns.
Meh, just because Trump's pet dogs are ignoring subpoenas doesn't actually make it right. And the law doesn't say that Congress has to demonstrate a legitimate legislative purpose, that's just made up BS being used to justify ignoring the law.
And there's no need to subpoena Obama's tax returns BECAUSE HE RELEASED THEM WHILE IN OFFICE
Has he not paid his taxes or is he not nearly as rich as he wants people to believe, and he's embarrassed about that?
It cannot benefit him to have people know his financial situation. He most likely has tons of write-downs in his taxes that will make him look inept as a business person. He probably has also made tons of money which will just remind everyone that he is really one of the elites that he rails about. He probably has not given much, if at all, to charities which will make him look stingy. There are probably some dealings with people or institutions that will raise eyebrows. Russian banks? Who knows? He has nothing to gain by showing his taxes. But that being said, I think the American public has a right to know who they are putting in office and it should be a requirement for candidates to show their taxes.
If he had no intention of releasing them because it "was nobodies' business".............he should have said so in the beginning.
It's pathetic that right wingers are throwing that excuse out there after all the times he's claimed he'd release them when "this or that" happened.
It was of marginal use to say he would back when he was saying it, and it is of no use now.
Nobody should do things that have nothing but downside for themselves. It makes no sense whatsoever.
