Best solution is holding the State's responsible and allow them to create a living wage based off of various aspects of COL. Higher wages may cause businesses to stay or go. Increase in wages where COL is higher may lead to less people exiting the State and increase in spending.
The best solution is to let the market decide what the proper wage is for a given job. I live in an area where unemployment is very low and competition for employees very high. Nobody works for minimum wage. Hell, my son pays his employees over $20/hr just to dig ditches! Why...because that is what he has to pay to get employees.
Your arguments have been covered over and over with no rebuttal. But let's argue for a moment that your argument was true (it is not). The other argument is to help people further their education. When that is brought up, you will yell SOCIALISM!!
If we were still using a gold standard you might have a point about wealth. However, we use a fiat currency which is backed by pretty much nothing other than reputation. There is no finite limit on wealth.

Educated how? By embedded leftist professors at a progressive college? Worthless social justice degrees preparing the student for a job at a non-profit? Transgender Culinary Science? LGB Napkin Folding 101?
If you want to go to college bad enough you'll find the money like responsible people do every day.
Minimum wage was a liberal construct and was a bad idea back when Teddy and his coastal pals initially made it happen.
It was a typical play for votes from the underclass like most Democrat schemes.
We dont have a WAGE gap, we have a SKILLS gap. Further, minimum wage is for teenagers with few skills. It was never intended to support a couple-----let alone a family.
No further discussion required.
Yes, further discussion. I worked as a Special Ed TA in two states. It was required that we have a minimum of a 2 year degree, PLUS experience with special needs population. In all the years that I worked I never reached $15/hour. I never could have done this without a husband who was making six figures a year to support me. I could pursue the work I wanted to in order to "give back" to the PUBLIC SCHOOL System Teachers who taught my own Special Needs Children; one who graduated college.
So you think we should not be making $15 an hour for "no skills"? Elaborate on what you consider skills.
"Controlling wealth" is another phrase based on envy. You act like wealth is finite-----only so much out there and it must be divided up like some pie. Who's going to be wielding that knife?
I make a specific argument. So far you or no one else has offered a rebuttal.
We have a record high market. Unemployment is at record lows but yet, we are contemplating cutting rates again. This is to make sure those at the top continue to increase their wealth at the expense of others.
You don't cut rates in a record market with low unemployment. Justify this for me.

Is there only so much gold out there? Is there only so much innovation out there? Is there only so much opportunity out there?
Thats what I thought! You've just been outed! LOL
I've covered this endlessly also. Yes, there is only so much opportunity out there for tens of millions of people.

I have an issue with giving a min wage to incompetence (this is pointed mostly at the fast food workers, but also many in retail too)...I am tired of going to a store, wanting to ask a question about a product, or placing an order for fast food, and they are so incompetent, that they get the order wrong, or have zero knowledge of the section they are working in.
when I am shopping, I ask questions, I want the best product for my need, the incompetence of the retail world today is so shocking..... years ago it was about customer service, knowledge of the product, today its about a quick sale with no knowledge of the product.
last week I went to a target....asked a simple question, not even ABOUT a product, but where to find the product....kid looked at me like I had 5 heads.......incompetence
I walked from my workplace to the taco-bell a couple of blocks down...asked for a very simple order...2 chicken soft tacos with onion...... walked back to work to find they handed me 2 chopmeat(beef) soft taco's with no onion.....incompetence
I have to travel a lot to Ft. Bragg...you go down south and they put mustard on hamburgers ( my opinion is mustard is for hot dogs, while catsup is for hamburgers)....place my order at a McDonalds "two Cheeseburgers NOMUSTARD"......incompetent slugs cant even get that correct
these fast food workers of today.....incompetent slugs............... yes I said ...incompetence......and they want to demand 15/hr...they aren't even worth 5/hr with that level of incompetence

WASHINGTON (AP) — The increase, which would boost pay for some 30 million low-wage workers,...
That's a great example of propaganda and disinformation.
According to the Social Security Administration, only about 12 Million people earn the federal minimum wage and that would be about 7% of the work-force.

Wealth does not equate to cash.
Why don't you explain how a $1.3 Million Van Gogh painting can be redistributed to the downtrodden?
Are you going to use an Exact-o knife to cut the canvas into 1 mm x 1 mm square pieces and redistribute that wealth to the downtrodden so people can feel good?
What do you suppose the value of that $1.3 Million Van Gogh painting will be after it's hacked into tiny pieces?

Any other examples come to mind?
You didn't address this one. You say that the problem is an educated society and then demean an education. Your stupid examples are not legit. Like I said..........
A couple in Oakland..both full time burger flippers can bring home a household income of $77K ($20/hour there) which beats the median household income of the US ($61K). Median household income in Oakland is $52K.
Yes they can have a family, house and car.
