Seems to me if you should jail business owners that offer jobs to illegals, you should also jail Governors, and Mayors who promote sanctuary states and cities. Both actions are implicit in bringing and sustaining illegals to live here.

trump could use the DOJ to actually go after corporations that hire illegals and punish them severely NOW!!

Instead he uses it as red meat to his base...

I would be for that. In IL, many of our Governors end up in prison anyway.

There are tons of laws that if broken do not necessarily get you jail time.

Most illegal workers have "fake ID's. Are YOU an EXPERT on recognizing fake ID'S?
You don't need to be an expert when you can buy a cheap device that can scan IDs.

If Republicans actually mandated Everify and it solved much of the problem - what would they use to gin up their base?

They would be stuck with guns, gays, and abortion.

Look at the E-Verify Law Map, and you'll see that not only do most blue states not have a mandatory e-verify law, but IL and CA actually have laws on the books that prevent the use of e-verify:

Your source is not dated. Is that map from 2011?

https://www.shrm.org/resourcesandtoo...-by-state.aspx

Clearly, both sides have reasons for declining to enforce e-verify.

The Finance Sector and Corporate Conglomerates own Washington DC.
They are the biggest problem our country faces.
Every war and every bad policy destroying this country comes straight from them.

For starters, it is a misnomer that the main reason illegals come here is because they know companies will hire them under the table.
That certainly happens to be sure, but many more are coming now days with the inducement of the political rhetoric of the left of free healthcare, free education, free food, etc., etc., etc.

The best example to make your case was the Asplundh Tree Company that received the largest fine in American history for hiring of illegal aliens. They pleaded guilty to a federal criminal charge and was ordered to pay a $95 million fine. Three managers including the VP pleaded guilty to felony charges, but I do not recall if they did any actual time.

So yes, making it a criminal felony with a mandatory minimum would help deter the greed that causes companies and even rich millionaires to hire them.
But never be naive enough to believe that will cause the majority to "self deport" like Romney proposed, because the incentives to come and stay illegally are presently too great.

This is especially true of OTM's that do live in S***hole countries and fleeing poverty to have the American taxpayers foot their families living expenses forever.
The Democratic party of today is out of it's collective mind making such proposals, as the word gets back to El Salvador, Guatemala, and other places.
Who wouldn't leave their impoverished country and come here illegally, which is happening now even though there is no land bridge to walk here from?
Thus you have groups of Africans, people from Asia and other places getting into Central America, then making the trek to cross illegally.

But when you ask Democrats how many are too many, you never get an answer. We have approximately 330 million people in this country, and there are at least 1 Billion+ poor and desperate people who would love to come here.
Should we take them all and just end our American culture?
To some Democrats the answer might be yes, but most would say no to that number. Yet they still will not give an actual number, because their position is emotion based, not logical or pragmatic.

Not only that but Trump has had e-verify in his last two budgets but was probably voted down by the Democrats again just like in the past. They won't sign on for an e-verify bill unless there is an amnesty attached to it.
Those people who keep bringing up the non sense come across more as paid puppets than actual posters, and they have an agenda to push through.
