I agree--there should be a gun or hobby forum, so that those who love guns can discuss their arms and ammo separately from political issues.
Ummmm, I hate to break it to you, but guns and gun legislation are a political issue these days. Do you listen to or read ANY news outlets?

IMO, you guys can have any weapon that was available to Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. As many as you want.

No gun grabber here. It is a lost cause. And there are so many of those military weapons already here since the ban was lifted, that all that will happen is the price will skyrocket if another ban takes place.

The gun lovers will take it to the mat because they are afraid giving an inch means their opposition will want a mile.

G-d forbade a shooter comes to your neighborhood. What's it gonna take? Getting screwed by the NRA lobbyist didn't make a dent.

No because the information they put out about firearms is usually 100% wrong.

The magnum was invented much later, when depression-era gangster wars were heating up across America. Gangsters such as Bonnie and Clyde, and 'Pretty Boy' Floyd drove V-8 Fords. In shootouts they would hide behind the engine block. There was nothing police could do.

Enter the magnum. It could slice through an engine block like a gerbil through Richard Gere. One of the first, perhaps the first, magnums made by Smith & Wesson went to J. Edgar Hoover.

But the magnum did not really gain popularity until the 1970s and the 'Dirty Harry' movies starring Clint Eastwood. Detective Harry Callahan uttered one of the most recognizable lines ever. It is little-remembered that it was in the act drawing down on an unarmed black male:

The magnum should be allowed ONLY for police and military. I would make exception for a licensed security operator such as "P.I. Magnum." The show's star Tom Selleck later became an NRA spokesperson. But in the show, he was licensed and had been trained to shoot the magnum as a Vietnam veteran. Are you? If you're not a policeman, soldier, or licensed security, there is no legitimate reason that you should have a magnum.
I'm all for banning whatever gun you want, as long as you willfully surrender your right to free speech so we don't have to hear your anti-gay stereotyping ignorance.

You probably just hurt more people with words than one "magnum" hurt people with a bullet today.

Do you have any statistics to validate your bird brained idea that banning ammunition marketed as "Magnum" would do anything? How many more people are killed each year by criminals using "Magnum" rounds as opposed to other rounds? A Clint Eastwood movie clip?

I've seen some very inane posts on this website over the years; this one ranks near the top.

Cool. Lets apply that to your freedom of speech then too. No twitter, facebook, instagram, snapchat, message boards, ham radio, blogs, or other form of technology aided mass communication for you.

Ignorant ideas spread too quickly and negatively impact too many people.

The founding fathers never could have imagined how easy it would be to type a few hateful words, hit send, and instantly share with 100s of millions of people.

I'm in, works for me. That's a trade I would joyfully make.

I already know the government is who can't shut me up. The 1st amendment says nothing about my momma, spouse, kids, neighbors or boss.

Perhaps in 50 years people will have learned how to deal with anger enough to stop killing with guns meant for war.

Right, I'm sure you would sign up for that...all 12,000 of your posts here against the law under that agreement.

Yes, officer--many news outlets. I'll give you a list on an addendum.

But for some odd reason none of them ever mention Magnums.

Let me know when the Magnum Townhall airs.
