This has been Nancy Pelosi's position, so you and she are in fundamental agreement. The difference this week is that the white house handed over evidence of a crime, a literal description and clumsy admission of guilt, which the House of Representatives can not constitutionally ignore regardless of the consequences.
All fabricated lies. Or parody? Proud of yourself?
I'm proud of Nancy Pelosi who is putting country and Constitution over party. Trump has committed an impeachable offense -- trying to strong arm a country into providing dirt to influence an election -- and she believes Congress has a duty to impeach, even if it means taking a risk that she might lose her speakership.

40% is about what fat Donald’s base is, so I don’t expect support to drop much below that.
Trump could commit treason in a Russian restaurant on 5th Avenue and not lose his base.
Trump's base is a solid 30-35%. He gets another 5-10 percent who don't like Democrat candidates and have no where else to go (Democrats also get the same bump 5-10%). His support is thin for most but as long as your more tolerable than your opponent you can win.
Just means you have little to no mandate and a very short rope with the general public. This is why McConnell has faced no pressure pushing back against the Presidents wall funding, Trump needs McConnell way more than McConnell needs Trump. Generic Republican President is all McConnell needs to get what he wants.
That may be difficult, as previous to Trump being President, there wasn't any concern, just like there wasn't any concern for conversations between POTUS and foreign leaders.
Over the course of history, US Presidents actually had conversations in secret . Can you imagine that happening today with the blood thirsty Dems and their media enablers ?
Secret: OK
Asking for interference in our election: bad, illegal
