People in that part of the world will never get along.

It time for us to take a step back and let them do what they do.

Nha Trang, Viet Nam 2019

Nha Trang, Viet Nam 1969

Maybe it's time to apply the lesson of the Vietnam War to the Middle East and holster our military-industrial messiah complex and just go home.

I support you heading on over on your dime and getting in the middle of it. Show us how resolute you are to protect those Kurds.

Ill be sure to thank you for your service if I ever see you walking through the airport

Iran, while good relations with Turkey, do have critical areas. The Kurds are in fact an Iranian group, so there is that link. Turkey also is in NATO, who by such membership is an ally of the US. Turkey also has positive relations with Israel, a mortal enemy of Iran. I have not read anything, but I cannot picture Iran supporting US troops in Syria, but also not support Turkish invasion of the Kurds.
Turkey is invading along with the Free Syrian Army which wants to overthrow Assad, its complicated with all the factions but our withdrawal leaves a vacuum. This has nothing to do with NATO, this is Turkey acting on its own. Iran fought along side us in Iraq but would gladly take advantage in Syria. I have not heard anything relative to Russia's opposition, they are supportive of Assad. We bombed the Syrian air base a few years back and warned the Russians.

Why should I sacrifice my sons and money to get in the middle of TRIBAL civil wars? Liberals weren't you anti war and anti American COLONIALISM? Blood for oil and such?

The Kurds would have been fighting with or without us being there. Yes they helped us because it was in their interest to do so. We should not be getting in the middle of what has been going on for years anyway. This fight is not worth my son's life.

Well said. Indeed, Senator Lindsay Graham agrees with AOC on this subject.

Strange world.
