Why would I care what they say?

That stupid letter shows that they don't understand (or care about) the legality of what the ICIG did. They hardly even discuss it. They mention the definition of "urgent concern" and then quickly change the subject because they know it wasn't an urgent concern!

It's all about policy concerns and the authority of the DNI(!) rather than the authority of the IG. It's scary that these IG's think the actual law is completely irrelevant. Plus, common sense supports the OLC's opinion. Whistleblowing is for internal wrongdoing. The things that spies observe simply get reported up the chain of command. It's stupid (and pointless!) to interpret the statute the way you do.

The OLC's opinion is undeniably right.

Well, given their positions, their opinion matters. Yours doesn't.

Some Trumpers seem intent on not really arguing to make a point, but arguing whatever illogical point they can conjure up to keep well meaning people posting for no reason at all. They don't have the facts on their side, so they have to use fauly logic whie making shadow puppets on the wall

Translation: They are losing the battle

Actually, the OLC's opinion is what matters, and thank God they have real lawyers at the OLC.

It really bothers me and upsets me that you called it a sad post. Well, not really. Read the Mueller Report. Russian Collusion was a real thing. It was not moved on in the house. It is what it is. The Stormy Daniels mess showed what an ignorant pig Trump is for having sex with a porn star while his wife was at home with their infant. Not an impeachable offense, but still offensive. Not sure about your last point unless you can point out where I ever wrote "We got him." I have faith in the repugnancy of the Senate Republicans to sweep the impeachment under the rug while puckering up and kissing the president's fat ass.

Face it. Trump is a man with no morals, no set beliefs. He only cares about two things -- himself, his money and his daughter. He does not care about America and if you think he does, you have officially been snowed. He makes Richard Nixon seem like Mister Rogers in comparison.

I did, nothing...because you think it says trump is wrong, does not mean trump is wrong.

It has to get to the senate, once the public can actually see what is provided....it may never make it out of the house, there is an election next year.

I can't place who you're talking about here. I know it's not Gingrich since he simply produced divorce papers while he wife was recovering from cancer. I guess you have a Democrat in mind and, true, anyone who would do that is a horrible human being. It's not exactly a valid defense of Trump though[/quote]

If you are saying that I do not know what will happen with this impeachment process, I can agree with that iif you say the same thing about you. My previous ass kissing statement concerning Senate Republicans should indicate what I think will probably happen. On the flip side, Senate Republicans were firmly behind President Nixon right up to the point that they were no longer behind him.

If the Trump administration truly believed that withholding military aid for an ally to further his political survival is not an impeachable, and possibly illegal, offense, they wouldn't have spent weeks lying about it and covering it up."

Nice way to show contempt for the concept of whistleblowing.
This whole charade is "jumping the gun."
