Let them get the training camps up and running again? Let them start beheading people suspected of helping Americans? Have we forgotten the people who jumped out of the WTC on 9/11? Seriously, what's next?
Yep. And don't forget Obama let all the worst terrorists go back to the prisons in Afghanistan and they were sprung quickly AND our southern border is wide open. How long before the next 911?
Trump's campaign promise was to end the war in Afghanistan. Trump negotiated with the Taliban to withdraw all U.S. forces by May 1 of 2021.
Now its done and all Trump can do is complain about it.
Its Trumps policy and plan but now suddenly the republicans are all bent out of shape about it being done.
It seems like Republicans are just a bunch of whiny people. They wont take their god's vaccine, they ***** about things that he started but Biden finished... what's the point of waking up each day if they are just going to complain about everything from sun up to sun down?
There was literally zero support for the Afghan government by the Afghan people. The estimated strength of the Taliban was 75,000 while the strength of the Afghan army was 300,000. But the Afghan army didn't just collapse. It evaporated, despite having all the equipment and training in the world.
Sure, we should have gone into Afghanistan to disrupt al Queda. But once that was done, we were supposed to get out again. They even sold it to us that way, that it wasn't nation building.
Twenty years of nation building later, Afghanistan's government collapses like a wet paper bag within weeks of pulling the troops out.
And, guess what? The same result would have happened had we waited another twenty years. And another twenty years after that. Trillions of dollars spent. Thousands of lives lost. And gone, Poof!, in a puff of smoke.
I'm not a fan of Biden, personally. But if anyone believes for a second that the Afghan nation would last long at all after our pulling out, that there was a shred of a change for success here, then they are delusional. Afghanistan has always been an ungovernable place that's not even Medieval. It's still in the Dark Ages. It's a rathole down which we poured a lot of money, men, and resources. It was little more than a payday for defense contractors at the cost of our men and women in uniform.
The fault rests primarily on the shoulders of one man : George W. Bush, who implemented this idiotic effort in the first place. Then Barack Obama and Donald Trump for continuing it.
Biden will take the heat in the short term for pulling the plug on this. But it was the right thing to do. Meanwhile, Bush, Cheney, Wolfwitz, and the rest of the fools who got us entangled will rightfully deserve the contempt of history.
Another example of listening to the military industrial complex and believing the self-deluded generals. After we killed OBL we should have declared mission accomplished and got out.
All that money spent, lives lost, bodies and minds injured—for this?
I don’t blame Biden. I blame the Pentagon. They milked us for decades and destroyed so many lives.

It is indeed a sad day..I can’t believe it’s like Vietnam all over again. Biden and the Democrats say they care about people well this shows you just how much.
We wasted enough $ over there and men. Time to pull out for good and don't go back jack.
Obama should have pulled them after OBL was killed. Trump had 4 years to pull them. We had 20 years to figure out the proper exit strategy. Doing it right in the middle of the fighting season when the taliban was at its strongest and not having all personnel moved to safety before we had the troops exit is inexcusable. There are thousands of Americans and thousands of Afghanis running for their lives there now and Biden had to send extra troops to try and correct the situation. You don't leave Americans behind.
This was Biden's first major foreign policy move and it could not have been worse. Instead of delaying until August it should have happened much earlier before the weather warmed up or later in November or after. Biden already pushed up the date one time.
