Reminds me of an old news story from around 1990 in the Chicago area.

They were culling deer which upset some rich ladies in upscale burbs....who then proposed the solution of going out and catching all the deer and giving them tubal ligations, or some other type of deer birth control.

If deer contracted c19 from humans it was most likely from a feed site. It is rare for deer to cozy up to humans and infect them back. One way transmission, like bullets and arrows.
