"Would make"? It's the second most visited Caribbean destination.

And why in G-d's name would the US want, or better...deserve...two communist hellscapes in the tropics?

What does a neutral nation that is neither part of NATO nor the EU have to do with the US other than being a dirtier/sleazier version of Switzerland and the Cayman Islands where politicians, corporatists and mafiosos can launder money? The US is not the only nation in the world that uses Ukraine for their various money laundering schemes. The whole freaking world is in on that, as it is Ukraine's chief industry.

If Russia takes Ukraine they are reuniting what they believe to be their countrymen to mother Russia. We take Cuba and Venezuela we are getting millions of non-english speaking, low-skilled people. No thank you.

Biden already looks weak and inept. Let’s just take our defeat and give Putin what he wants.

Putin and Xi have a pact. Russia invades Ukraine, and China takes Taiwan.

Biden will sh*it his pants, and do nothing.

Game over.

You should watch video bloggers wandering around Venezuela, and stop watching beauty competitions.

Venezuelans will come to the USA and vote for socialism. They are accustomed to free apartments, free electricity, free food, almost free gasoline.
Venezuela used to sell oil and import everything - people could do nothing and stay home.

My point is that IF the US wanted Venezuela, it would not take much to take the country. As far as the current state of Venezuela goes, no one wanted the country. Russia cannot expand here and the occasional port call does not qualify. I remember how at one point, Brazil was touted as the next 'US'. People even said that the Brazil space agency will surpass the American NASA because Brazil is so well position for space launches. What happened?

By contrast, Cuban exiles in the 1950's were industrious. I guess they lived under capitalism and fled the first whiff of socialism, so never got to "enjoy" it. The Venezuelans, I guess you are saying liked what they had until it became dangerous and dystopian.
