"18 year olds?"

You mean EIGHT 18 year-olds out of millions?

You realize that any 18 year old committing a gun crime is EXCEPTIONALLY rare, right?

I would be fine with that...but then make everything equal...no one under 21 can drive, drink, VOTE, enter the military, enter into a marriage, get an abortion, get gender transitioning medical care, enter into a contract (which includes loans, including student loans), and pay taxes either

How are they responsible, period?

If we are not going allow them the privs of being an adult then legally, they should still be juveniles and if in court, tried as such. The gov't should not play with their age status for their convenience.

Maybe we don't need sweeping gun control laws. We don't need to take guns away from women, or from middle-aged men. There is a very specific cohort here. Why don't we concentrate on keeping guns out of the hands of young men?
Do a bit more research and you'll see most of them were on prescription antidepressants.

Same argument could be used for buying booze, cigarettes, vape, weed, all drugs for that matter.

If someone wants it they will get it.

I appreciate that there is no 100% way to shut down these troubled men....but we have to start exploring options.

MOST young American men are going to college, or are working, or both. They like cars and dating and sports and video games.

The question you should be asking is why young men who are extremely troubled sometimes fall through the cracks.
Well, here's one big issue: even if someone wants help, there are extremely long waiting lists now to see a professional.

Mental health issues, particularly with youth, are at an all time high. My niece is a social worker and told me there is a 6-12 month waiting list just to get an appointment with a psychiatrist in my area. It wouldn't surprise me if it's similar nationwide. Additionally, even the best health insurance plans don't always fully cover mental health services.

The common demoninators are mental illness and psychotropic drugs.
