If the the far-left kooks could, they would abolish any and all laws that permit self-defense of any kind and self-sufficiency of any kind.

We've heard this over and over, yet every time a madman does something illegal (as long as he's not black), the left beats us over the head with more gun control proposals.

The big enchilada is the 2A in general. It stands in the way of the erosion of gun rights for our citizens like no other line of human rights in history, and it has been chipped away at since at least the 1930s.

Given the the solution for Democrats is to ban, abolish, tax, or repeal a lot of things:

1. Abolish ICE!
2. Defund the police!
3. Ban AR-15s!
4. Tax ammunition!
5. Ban bump stocks!
6. Ban "hi cap" mags!
7. Ban legal adults from buying guns until 21!

Does anyone here really believe that if the Democrats ever had a filibuster-proof majority and the White House (along with enough state legislatures to vote for it to satisfy amending the constitution) , that they WOULDN'T repeal the 2nd Amendment?

Here's a bill from 2019 that was brought by House Democrats to repeal the 2nd amendment:
https://rightwingtribune.com/2019/03/09/repeal-the-2nd/

Here's a list of 46 senators, all democrats or independents, who voted to outsource our gun rights to UN, effectively neutering the 2nd amendment:
List of 46 Senators who voted to repeal the 2nd Amendment via the UN Small Arms Treaty

Here is the official 2020 Dem party platform on the 2A, which reads like a litany of assaults on it:
https://dailycaller.com/2020/08/04/t...ndment-rights/

So what say you? Do Democrats dream of abolishing it and making us "More like Europe" that they always seem to lust about?
and they cant even figure out what the 2nd amendment means.. or how abolishing it would also abolish the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments too

I could see Democrats taking the "Joe Camel" approach to the situation. Basically banning weapon designs (exterior only here) that have rails and other accessories to dress them up as "Military Issue" rifles. They could make the case that was made about Joe Camel which is the design is meant to attract kids and young adults to those firearms which leads to dangerous outcomes. Cigarettes remained legal but the use of the cartoon that attracted young people to them was tossed.

In effect, you are outlawing the look or cosmetic portion of the gun without affecting functionality. No more looking like Rambo when leaving the Gun store, instead, you look more like Elmer Fudd.

The last thing a teen wants to do is look like they are on a 1950s Deer or Turkey hunt.

It's not about controlling crime it's about absolute power and control over all of us. That's always been the plan of the LWNJ's.

"There are only a few laws in history that are universally applicable. One of these is that the ruling classes do not want the peasantry armed. They will do what they can to convince you that to be armed is dangerous. They will attempt to do this while they themselves are surrounded by armed body guards. Idiots will not notice this hypocrisy and sycophants will ignore it. Fools will surrender their arms in the name of "safety". They will insensibly surrender their liberty at the same time. This is how slaves are made."

You are so right! Look at the way the Democrats are trying to ban abortion or ban what can be said in school classrooms.

Oh wait......

I voted yes because anytime there is a highly publicized shooting the first and only thing they talk about are guns.

They're willing to lie about it.....

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...non-ownership/

So I don't think it's a big stretch to think that they'd abolish it if they could..

Q: Why does the Constitution have a second amendment?

A: In case the government doesn't obey the first one.

Why does the Democratic Party focus on the tool and not the operator? We need to bring back mental institutions. Some people are not fit to participate in society, but do not belong in prison.

"Shall not be infringed"
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state",

But no, I wouldn't abolish the second amendment. I would make it more difficult for 18 year olds to buy weapons designed for the sole purpose of killing numerous people quickly and efficiently. The past several shooters were quite young and almost certainly would not have been institutionalized even when those pits of hell existed.
