Yes, you read that title right! Seventy-two percent of Americans support a limit on abortion after fifteen weeks, forty-nine percent of Americans support a limit on abortion after six weeks, and thirty-seven percent of Americans support limiting abortion strictly to incidents of rape and incest . Just ten percent of Americans believe there should be no limits on abortion.

This means that most Americans would agree with Florida's or Mississippi's limit on abortion, or even no abortion with certain exceptions, more than the late-term abortion supported by forty-six United States Democratic Senators, and is further proof that the Democratic Party is out of touch with most Americans, on this issue...

From the article:

In fact, the poll shows that the Republican position on abortion is more favorable to the average American than the Democrat stance is.

Seventy-two percent of those polled supported abortion restrictions at least as strict as a ban on abortions after 15 weeks, like the Mississippi law at issue in Dobbs. Thirty-seven percent said abortion should only be legal in cases of incest or rape. Only 10 percent supported abortion up to the moment of birth, a radical position but one that many Democrat politicians have openly supported.
There is one thing I find odd, just as the author of this article points out. It is quite contradictory:

Abortions with limits is NOT the Republican position! For heaven's sake. The Republican position is NO abortions except (and there is not even universal agreement on this) to save the life of the mother. No exception for rape or incest. The 15 week was a trial balloon and is being ditched in every state including MS where it originated now that the Republican Court has given them more than they asked for.

The Democrat position is the polar opposite, of course. As usual, most Americans are in the middle supporting abortion with limits. That position is way, way, way closer to the Dems position than the absolute prohibition Republicans are peddling this election year.

There are no values in this country anymore. Values are racist and discriminatory.
The left want a free for all. Just let the animals run wild with no recourse while simultaneously and subconsciously engaging in slavery, and these idiot lefties are clueless dolts that don’t or won’t, acknowledge they’re being swindled.

Who cares. The majority of the states with the highest abortion rates are blue states, which will undoubtedly allow unrestricted abortion, probably right up to the point of labor.

There are extremists on both sides of the issue. On one side there would be no abortions allowed. On the other a woman could have one as the baby is being born.

The majority of the country is somewhere in between and what the Supreme Court did was to hand the decision back to the States which actually means Back to the People, the Voters.

People seem to be falling on the 15 week limit and it makes sense. If a woman engages in risky sex then misses her period that month it is pretty easy to buy a pregnancy test. I would think that most women would have a pretty good idea whether they were pregnant or not within 2 months which is 8 weeks let alone nearly 4 months.

We as a Nation would be in much better shape IF we would stop letting the Far Left and the Far Right well actually the Left pointing out what the Far Right wants to do because lets face it the Far Right have very little sway anywhere... Just stop letting the Far Left lead us around with their Fear tactics and we would all be much happier.

I was wondering what the EXACT position on abortion was the Republican one.

And there is no question of 'do you support THE Republican position.....(the implies one -- not the myriad of positions taken by the Republican party) question anywhere.

Of the people polle 72% do support abortions up to 15 weeks.

Haven't most Republican states implemented a ban on all abortions?

So what is the position......a ban or up to 15 weeks. Can't be both.

No state bans all abortions. Some states limit abortion to incidents of rape, incest, or if the life of the mother is at risk, which according to this poll is what thirty-seven percent of Americans support. Some limit abortions to six to eight weeks, which forty-nine percent of Americans support, and some limit abortions to twelve to fifteen weeks, which seventy-two percent of Americans support.

Only ten percent of Americans believe there should be no limits on abortion, which is what forty-six Democratic Senators voted in favor of, and, therefore, is the mainstream view of the Democratic Party, which means the vast majority of Americans actually align with the Republican Party, on the issue of abortion. The Republican Party really needs to push this!
