Um.. no.. my condo is not a 55+ community and I have tons of old people hogging the condos because they are less expensive than the 55+
We bought our first condo (not a 55+) in 1987. I gave away the lawn mower and have not missed it yet. The joy of a condo is that it frees you from exterior maintenance.
55+ communities in my area are fast tracked because it means a development with no kids and the biggest part of our property tax is the school tax. Those with kids can purchase the homes sold by the 55+ crowd.
Developments for folks of all ages are usually shut down in the planning stage because of the concern for more students to further drive up the property taxes.
Which brings up another societal anomoly...why should property owners without kids living at home, pay for schools? Why not just parents who are using them?
55+ communities are not discriminatory. What would be ultimate age discrimination is to have an under 55 community that one you reach 55 you are no longer allowed. That’s discrimination.
But in 55+ communities, anyone under 55 can't live there...right? Why isn't thawt discrimination against younger people?

So can 25 year olds enjoy the same benefits in a 55+ community? If not, why not?
This happens because certain groups want to be a part of society and integrate while other groups still want to segregate themselves from society and believe they should have more rights and privileges than other groups while still claiming that they are oppressed even though the evidence and logic doesn't support that assertion.
