Money, power, control. That's what Fauci's red chinese cohorts cooked up with him. This has done our nation enormous damage. I still see people driving around alone all masked up. This paranoia will last some people forever.

The US govt. has been pretty open about performing gain-of-function research in the past. The idea is to explore the possible weaponizations of various pathogens in an effort to create countermeasures, such as vaccines and medications. This was mostly in regard to battlefield pathogens.

There were some recent high-profile accidents at US biolabs which lead the US govt. to move some of that research overseas, which IMO, was a bad idea.

In any case, this research has been going on for decades. 60 Minutes reported on it in the 1980s.

Why would another country release a virus? We saw just how uncontrollable viruses are!
