It was voted on and approved by the board, meaning at least two others joined her. Three of the board members are LGBTQ+ and, if I understood what I read correctly, at least one of the members not LGBTQ+ voted in agreement. Not sure about the fifth member.
People totally ignore school board elections, this is a prime example of why that is so incredibly short sighted.
We need more of this. As of now it's clear to anyone without an agenda these clowns are dangerous, very unkind and more than willing to leverage prejudice and bigotry over kids on a grand scale. It's cultural and religious cleansing.
We need more because right now people at the center are coming to the realization that defund, CRT and "kids are too young for the internet but not too young for sex change surgeries" type thinking is dangerous, sell-defeating for the country and ruinous for our kids. We need more to demonstrate to more on the left that they did this and they need to reverse course.
This was an amazing choice to make during a time of a national teacher shortage in a state that has experienced teacher shortages when the rest of the nation had a glut, so you know it’s really bad now. It is also an absolutely amazing priority for a school system when, based on the 2020-21 school year, only 7% of students were proficient in math (Arizona state average is 32%). And reading/language arts, while better, was only 17% proficient (Arizona state average is 39%). In my state a school system that low would be in danger of being taken over by the state, not sure what Arizona’s rules are.
Arizona allows for recalls of school board members, if I lived there I know I’d be working to get these idiots removed.
Agree with you, but Democrats are never held responsible for the poor decisions they make. Instead, they hide behind issues like gender, race, the fact that this person is neurodivergent, to deflect any criticism of poor decisions or poor policy. “You just don’t like her because she’s neurodivergent.”
Hopefully folks in this school district prove me wrong and recall her.
Tamillia Valenzuela "she, her, ella" "“a bilingual, disabled, neurodivergent, Black Latina" school board member wants Christian-educated teachers should be forbidden from teaching in her district's schools.
Wow, so much tolerance from the liberals.
They only have tolerance for perspectives they agree with and everything they don't agree with they want banned.
What is hilarious is the school board members are "she, her, ella" and "he, his, him, el"
Couldn’t she have thrown in a few more adjectives- indigenous, lgbtq2spirit, non-binary, etc ? How does she think she’ll win the oppression Olympics with out more adjectives? Clearly there must be others who are bigger victims than her/she/ella. Come on, Tamillia, you’re not even trying!
