One thing is for certain after this interview. The US and Russia aren't very different at all when it comes to foreign policy. Ukraine was used by both nations and now the people suffer. Soon the US will realize it failed and abandon Ukraine completely. Hopefully it can negotiate a better deal before Russia invades more of the country
Watched the whole interview on video afterward. Putin has an amazing breadth and depth of knowledge, and deep patriotism. I'm glad he only mentioned Trump once, at the same time as Bush Jr., saying he had good relations with both. Nothing for the corporate media wolves to chew and regurgitate. You just know they were drooling for some red meat.
All past presidents had good relations or at least non-negative things to say about Putin, but suddenly we're told he's the second coming of Hitler.
And idiot Americans fall for it.
The whole NATO discussion and all of that up to the 40min was interesting.
Putin claims the U.S. was supporting terrorism through finances, support, and weaponry in the North Caucasus.
Putin mentioned Russia, Europe, and the US going in together on a missile dense system and the U.S. (Gates & Rice) shot down the idea.
Tucker then mentioned that twice, during the interview, Putin eluded to instances where the president was overridden. Putin agreed.
I'm not expecting Putin to be totally honest in his presentation. But the freak out factor on the left has been high. So I am looking for instances - present or past - that puts the Swamp in a compromising position.
Putin did raise some valid points in terms of NATO, and I can't help thinking Putin should have just stuck to these relevant points in the interview.
In reality after the end of the Cold War and the end of the so called Iron Curtain and the end of the Warsaw Pact, there should have been a move towards European's taking responsibility for their own defence and a move away from reliance on the US and US interference in European affairs.
What happened instead was the US continually pushed for the expansion of NATO despite guarantees made to Russia and despite warnings from other European leaders, and US politicians have just antagonised Russia further (as well as China and other nations), and these include the likes of Hilary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden and numerous others.
On top of this you have US CIA interference in Russian politics and US interference in Ukraine, and this has helped lead to increased Russian aggression, and the same is true of the Pacific region and China, and these nations are now working together with others in order to build an alternative to the post Cold War US global economic and military hegemony.
At the same time US politics is radically changing, with the possibility of increased isolationism and a possible move way from NATO and US bases in Europe, meaning the European nations must now deal with the fall out from all of this, and must now re-evaluate their own defence policies and European defence collaboration, however the sensible time to do this was just after the end of the Cold War and not after US led NATO expansion and US interference has left Europe with a massive mess to deal with.

One other important thing in the U.S. at least that the interview accomplished was to put to rest the idea that Putin is some kind of simple idiot, probably on his death bed, which is how the American media likes to portray him.
It's more than obvious Putin is quite intelligent, very articulate, quick on his feet with no memory loss, and just as much a Russian patriot as any American leader would be in this country. Whether or not you agree with him and his methods is another matter.

Ex-US ambassador breaks down where Putin ‘failed’ in Tucker Carlson interview
Good points contradicting Putins claim that Ukraine isn’t an independent country.
