In response to the NY Trump ruling, truckers have just begun to organize a boycott of delivering, or picking up, loads in New York:

https://www.newsnationnow.com/trump-...ott-nyc-trump/

Owner-Operators like this carry 70% of the Nation's freight. They could shut down NY in just a few weeks, & bring the State to its knees.

What will happen next? The gov't can't make them go into New York, if they don't want to.

From what I hearing now are the grumblings of some companies are going to refuse to deliver or sell into NYC. We will see if this catches traction but this may be a larger story in the weeks to come.

Agreed, it's in its infancy right now, but if it takes hold, NY will be brought to its knees...like when the sanitation dept strikes there...only worse.

They may have to use the national guards fleet of trucks to bring in diapers, baby food, meds, critical medical devices/supplies, food, ect.. Imagine 8.5M people in NYC not getting food, or trash bags, or Rat poison

Maybe you posted it so soon, it wasn't thought to be credible yet...now it is...look at all the news sources reporting it:

There's no denying it...its no malarkey...its hard news that is happening right now, & its politically relevant.

I guess Adams can just give Commercial Drivers Licenses to all the 'migrants' and have them 'do the jobs American's refuse to do'

Close to nothing. A few dozen truckers or so will end up boycotting NYC, maybe a hundred at the most, and those will easily be replaced by other truckers who don't want to get fired or reprimanded, and after that it won't take long until those truckers who participated in the boycott realize the whole thing is futile, so they'll shrug and get back to doing their normal work.

In the meantime a few stores might get their deliveries a day late or so.

Of the tens of thousands of owner operators, how many are actually going to refuse going into NYC? Probably a small percent of loads that will be picked up by by truckers that haven't gone radical. In a few weeks, no one will care. Especially those who take a paycheck hit.

Truck drivers are already at a deficit. They are like toilet paper at the height of the covid craze. They hold the cards right now. Ball is in their court. So we’ll just have to grab some popcorn and see how this plays out.

Oddly enough this has been talked about here in the Peoples Republic of Portland. The notion is that 18 wheelers have no business traversing urban streets with their dangerous to pedestrians, air fowling, traffic clogging diesel behemoth vehicles. Rather, build staging areas outside the urban core where UPS, postal and Amazon sized delivery trucks take over the "last mile" routes in the city. Innovative thinking that would serve many cities well.

Good for these forward thinking boycotteers.
