The city of Miami Beach sent out a strong message to spring breakers this month: "We're breaking up with you."

The Florida city released a new ad campaign Friday in which it outlined its plans for stricter rules for tourists.
Quote:
Miami Beach officials said the city would implement curfews, bag checks, restricted beach access, DUI checkpoints and expensive parking fees. It also said it would increase law enforcement.

Well its about time. Looks like they’ll have to call in the national guard if previous spring breaks are any indication.

The left always has to ruin things for everyone else, by acting crazy.

With the college crowd on spring break, it's not so much about Left or Right, but rather, what's in the "middle" that has their attention.

Honestly, given the maturity of the typical college student, I find it hard to disagree with Miami's decision. Tourism is a billion dollar industry in Miami, and the last thing we need to see is scantily-clad college girls competing in the first annual "Bubba Clinton Wet T-Shirt Contest", sponsored by Blue Dress Cleaners.

Joe Biden is apparently going off the rails about this. CNN is reporting that Biden is going to sign an executive order to allow elementary school kids to have their own spring break.

LMAO.

Again: Miami Beach, not Miami. Spring break is not banned, just regulated.

Why are people having such trouble getting this straight?

It sounds more provocative that way.

While it's true that not every spring breaker is a choirboy, my understanding of the situation in Miami Beach is that the problems are largely caused by locals from Miami coming over and causing trouble. The city officials ought to work on getting them under control before clamping down on the tourists.

It's more about the violence by the non college crowd then the college crowd themselves.

Spring Break 2023
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...hooting-cancel
City leaders in Miami Beach are to rethink their approach to the annual student rite of passage known as spring break after successive weekends of violence left two people dead, hundreds arrested and dozens of guns confiscated by law enforcement officers.

When did Miami Beach end up back on the SB radar, I thought Panama City was ground 0 for it, I know Fort Lauderdale got rid of it years ago. Either way the Gov is sending the National Guard or State Troopers to Miami isn't he?

The local government is just doing what it should to preserve the quality of life for citizens. I know I wouldn't want that type of thing in my town. They are just making life inconvenient for people who want to use the town as a party venue. I can't blame them.
