Well they probably voted for Biden and Biden campaigned on "immigration reform".
Only it turned out Biden's idea of "immigration reform" was to open the floodgates and declare them all "asylum seekers".
And then add to that City declarations of "Sanctuary City" which mandates the city take financial care of them.
They are upset over policies they promoted and agreed with only because it has now arrived in their back yard.
The people on the stage should have had big mirrors because the people complaining put the people in office that took away "their" welfare money.
The people complaining are the ones that created the problem.

I’m very tired of the “it’s no big deal, nothing burger” attitude of the leftists on this board. The country is being invaded by criminals, and those on the left who are not yet affected by Biden’s open border policy just brush it off. I’d like to see you take that attitude with Laken Riley’s parents or any number of the thousands that have been assaulted or worse by an illegal immigrant let in by your leader. All they care about is absolute power, and they see this flood of illegals as their direct path towards that end goal. They don't care one iota about the people that are harmed in the process, even people who vote democrat in lockstep, like blacks. Leftists are arrogant and shameless in everything they do. Here is the deal...
At any point in human history, there is always at least one civilization that stands above the rest. Does not have to be perfect, just better. We had China, Persia, Greece, Roman, Egypt, even Africa had wealthy and powerful empires. Of each of these civilizations, peoples are attracted to them and moved to them. Yes, they fell but that is not the point which is that no peoples are identical to each other and the results are that some countries are better than others.
Today, it is the notional West, which includes JPN, SKR, and Singapore, that is dominant. It is 'notional' instead of shared geography because these countries are similar in philosophy, morality, ideology, and politics. Modern technology make it easier for these countries to communicate with each other, further cementing their shared beliefs. Without higher standards of everything, how else can humanity progress? We cannot. We can even argue that because NOW we can see the differences between countries, the world needs that higher standard than before.
That the US is the leader of the notional West is what the American Left hates. Instead of compelling others to rise, the American Left want US to descend. Everything the American Left is doing is not accidental but deliberate. Does not have to be by design, just by intent and opportunity. Ruining the average American life, from regulating how much we can mow our lawns to how much meat we can eat to how we are supposed to treat crimes and criminals, is opportunistic. Damage the system wherever an exploit is available. Shame the people whenever possible.
So again, if people thinks these are the results of unintended consequences, you are fools.
