Shrug, Biden* was doing the same thing, though probably without the illegal's okay in being sent wherever Biden* had sent them. Did you complain about the $1500-5000 a person cost with that? though it was probably more than that per person since it was the federal government that was involved and not a state.
Huh? They have to settle or go bankrupt? What the heck are you talking about? That motion to dismiss was a typical pretrial motion, the suit was just filed on March 29, 2024. Lol, it really hasn't even gotten started and you're already popping the champagne cork thinking that company had lost.
That's rich, we pay over $100 billion a year to support illegals(and probably double that amount since Biden*) and you're carping about peanuts.
Why should it be that only border states have to deal with illegals, especially when there are cities that have been begging to give them sanctuary? It's far cheaper to move them out at $1500-5000 a person than it is to support them for the rest of their lives.
Trials are expensive settlement is lot cheaper for them. NY City has deep pockets seeking 700 million dollars. Reminds me of Cyber Ninja's where are they today bankrupted. Another republican political stunt.

This was the point in my earlier post. Yet in the OP:

It seems like judges are getting reamed every day these days for doing nothing but their jobs. The outrage toward the judge in the OP was misplaced. If we want to dispute the rightness or wrongness of their claims, fine. But to accuse the judge of trying to make caselaw for a political purpose based on something so small as determining the case can move forward is another example of seeing judicial activism under every rock where there is no reason to believe there is any.
All depends on how they agreed to be sent there if the document told them one thing and something else was done could be on the hook. These companies are likely owned by republican donors who are making millions of dollars in tax payer funded money charging $5000 a person to be transported by air. The bus rides cost tax payers $2200 a person on a bus ride that would normally cost $250 on Grayhound.
I'm in favor of suing the republican companies who made millions on these political stunts.
Why not sue the Administration who is letting them in? If they are democrat companies would that make it OK?
The case will be assigned to an activist judge and the illegals will win. Not sure how appeals work in a case like this but that's the only hope for a sane outcome here.
How can the transport companies be sued for providing transportation that the illegal aliens themselves authorized with their signatures?
The "how" is because nobody will stop them. The "why it's allowed" is to intimidate transport companies in the future so they will refuse to cooperate with states like Florida and Texas.
A federal judge says migrants can sue the company that flew them to Martha's Vineyard
why on earth would they want to? they got a free trip to a place they agreed to go.
but i have no doubt there's an army of shyster lawyers more than willing to convince them they need to.
