Is this racist?

Utah company causes nationwide uproar over 'Sock Obama' - ABC4.com

Personally, I find it very funny, not racist at all. After 8 years of the left calling Bush a chimp, I find it very odd that they would play the race card when one of theirs is referred to as a primate of some sort. I guess really its just another double standard on their list.

Wow! I am so shocked that you don't think this is racist!

I would hope that the same Utah couple is selling an old, grimy, greyish pockmarked sock monkey called the McCain.

They do sell a McCain monkey and a Palin monkey too. But your description was kind of rude.

Didn't any of you have a sock monkey when you were growing up? I had one.

Rude? Oh! I didn't realize rudeness was an issue on this forum. Why was it rude? He's old, he's gray and he has bad skin. So?

No, its not a double standard at all. People consider Bush to be primate-like due to his subpar intelligence and amazing ability to butcher the English language in new and exciting ways. Blacks (an ancestry which Obama is half) have been compared to and/or called apes, baboons or chimps in more racist times in our country and even today as an attempt to dehumanize.

I have to agree with this. As I have said many times on here, I am not prejudiced. I wish Condi were running for president for the GOP. It makes no sense that it's okay to call Bush "chimp," but it's not okay to call Obama "chimp" because he's black.

I dont think it is racist.

What you can do to a white man, you can do to a black man.

And dont let this ad phase you, the same people who joked about Bush being a monkey are now crying racist. Its kind of hypocritical. The only thing more hypocritical than Obama himself is his supporters.

99 times out of 100 if you gotta point it out, you just might actually be prejudiced.
