Yeah, he was a great team player, but at some level you need to be minimally competent too.

I read Michael Chertoff will replace him -- another incompetent team player. I can't wait for the confirmation hearings.

Boo for him. He departs as an iconic symbol of the disgrace and deception that has so often characterized this administration...

First it was Rumsfeld, then Wolfowitz and Rove....wonder who will be next after Gonzales?

I'm going to miss him. He was the defining symbol of what DC has been evolving to for the last 25 years, total lack of interest in what the people or the constitution have to say about things. We really need icons like that leading the US...

We first began talking about this a few months ago, March, to be exact.
Mb1919 posted that the house of cards was starting to come tumbling down.
There has been a bit of tumbling.

I don't know if I would look at it that way. A lot of these people are doing what many politicians and public figures do, get out while the getting is good.

Unfortunately, Gonzalez leaving doesn't give me any hope that DC has improved or that someone better will take his place. Everytime you think things couldn't get any worse, you are setting yourself up to be proved wrong it seems.
