Let's hope this promise actually comes to fruition.
I don't see why states can't make their own laws when it comes to marijuana or any other drug.

Time for reality to replace ideology/religion/Republican inspired slavery
Right-wingnuts are all just alike in ideology.

No,
I'm saying Rush Limbaugh = Druggie

I'm still wondering what he was doing with a bag full of Viagra in the Dominican Republic, a country known for having child prostitution

Limbaugh won't face charges over Viagra in bag (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/local_news/epaper/2006/07/06/m1a_LIMBAUGH_0706.html - broken link)

The vast number of people with doctor notes nowhere near represents the amount of people that actually need marijuana. A busted knee or foot doesn't equate to need to smoke pot. A terminal cancer or something is okay. The raids on those stores had nothing to do with trying to stop people who actually need the drug and everything to do with those toothache smokers.

Synthetic THC pills (marinol) are schedule III while straight marijuana plants are schedule I. The reason is that pills can be sold for $1000 a month while people can grow their own plants indepentent of BigPharma. The reason why the FDA tests drugs for a little more than a year that end up killing kids but still need medical marijuana testing is because of money and greed. We finally have a president that doesn't allow legislation to reward greedy corporations that harm people in order to maximize profits.

So why was Gonzales v Raich ever pursued?

They raided the legitimate users as much as the BS ones. A bigger waste of resources could not be found than those used to raid Marijuana dispensiaries that adhere to state law like they did here in San Diego.

Seriously we should be embracing pot in these tough times

Use it for gas, wear it, use it for medicine, build a house with it, etc
