Bush has simply spent eight years padding the pockets of the wealthy at the expense of everyone else, and that has done serious damage to the country and its economy. It's about time we again had a government that kept other elements of the population in mind as well, and I very much look forward to seeing additional taxes on the wealthy paired with additional tax relief for the middle class et al. This sort of thing has become long overdue...
First time someone mentions how much they make, they're lying.

I'm a superhero cowboy astronaut and because I said it on the internet, it's true.

When private banks are forced to abandon sound judgement and take huge risks, the result is predictable. The party is over, and the Democrats are the ones that threw the party.

No, they're not good programs. Canada has "free" healthcare, right? Of course they're taxed out of their minds for that "free" healthcare.

And if you enjoy days in an emergency room and subpar doctors, Canada's the place for you.

France is doing pretty well with all their riots too. France is on the way to becoming a muslim country because they have political correctness run amok.

Yes, the French health care system is often cited as being among the best in the developed world. It's a public system with available private supplements. They have more doctors per capita than we do. Their doctors earn less but pay no malpractice insurance and have no student loans to repay as their education is free. Any patient can see any doctor, medical care is determined by the patient and doctor without need to involve an insurance company, everyone in the country is covered, they have top-ranked overall health statistics, and they pay a little more than half as much per capita for their system as we do for ours. Interesting....

I thought the exact same thing! Her comments about taxes are completely 180 degrees from how 99.99999999% of top bracket taxpayers feel. I am an example of one that totally and completely disagrees with her...

I don't really care what you believe about what I make. I mention it because of all this garbage talk about Class Envy and Class Warfare, when in fact rather substantial numbers among people who have money are absolutely thrilled to see the economic and tax policies of this nation turned around. Not all among the wealthy are the greedy, money-grubbing b@st@rds you'll see running around at Republican Party functions...

LOL...You are correct Sir. The "progressives", which are actually "regressive", never will admit that what they are fighting for already exists and has been tried over and over with the same results. Our "progressives" will always believe that THIS time it will turn out different regardless of human nature and human history.

Ireland is another great example. Sure their taxes are higher but they all have access to universal quality healthcare and education for all through college. Government regulation of business generally hands off although they are now experiencing some of the same issues with their banks that we are due to nobody was watching the kids with their hands in the cookie jars. Economy is booming. Very nice quality of life.

CRA loans, let us not forget, have 100% loss rates and are functionally equivalent to political campaign contributions.
-- R. Christopher Whalen

Would you like to source this claim for us? Your author didn't bother to. It's a complete fraud. CRA loans performed better than industry averages, and the early success of the portfolio was what led the Clinton administration to recommend GSE expansion of support for the program in the late 1990's.

The author's other two points concerning regulators' misplaced enthusiasm over the potential role of derivatives and their failure to exercise aspects of their regulatory responsibility seriously have some merit. The claims concerning CRA do not.

They'll make the poor dependent on the government, which is just what socialist countries do. It helps to control the masses.
I wasn't displacing other reasons, it was in addition to.
The fact that they don't realize what you say is one indication of their mental capacity.
Are you going to tell me you don't know people that aren't bright enough to ever handle jobs more complicated or requiring more intelligence than the menial jobs they do have?
I just wish they couldn't vote.
