We aren't discussing individuals but media outlets as a whole.....

They interrupt, they laugh about the stories they are reporting and they blatantly express their political leanings when they report. They also have a lack of original news and are basically a tabloid. Even the oversaturation of graphics and colors shows how little they care about the news and how much they care about appealing to the lowest common denominator.

I hate Fox News because it contributes to ignorance and idiocy in this country. They've admitted to pushing a specific agenda (talking points and the like) and that is NOT News. That is entertainment, thus why it is called "Faux News" by people who realize how pathetic it is. But regardless of your political affiliation, if you actually sit down and try to watch Fox News objectively, you will always see the same thing over and over again without any insight or intelligent thought. CNN and MSNBC aren't much better, but at least they don't try to say that they are "Fair and Balanced" when they are OBVIOUSLY the Right's "news" haven.
Do you know the difference between news and commentary? O'Rilley, Hannity, and Beck are NOT news reporters, they are commentators. O'Rilley's "talking points" are not news reporting, he is clearly giving HIS opinion on current events.

Seems a lot of people seem to miss that...or CHOOSE to simply ignore it.

But again, anything that mentions Atheismis automatically offensive to the religious fanatics that make up at least 30% of this country.

Ok, well allow me to clarify what I meant before. I don't agree with any of the Fox News commentators.

Better?

"Talking head" is the primary format for Fox News, and especially in prime time when 83% of the time is spent as such. It is how most seem to get their news, and views shaped. And there is no greater evidence of it than right here at C-D forums.

They don't have "News" reporters, all they have are commentators. Even their "News" programs have commentary. Remember when Anna Nicole Smith died of an OD? Well, that wasn't news to anyone who actually cares about the world, but Fox not only had the entire day devoted to her, but they also had commentary on the commentary.

Maybe it's just me, but a news station should actually report the news...FACTS are all that matter, not opinions. You cannot call yourself a "Fair and Balanced" "News" source if the majority of the people who are on the air are highly opinionated commentators.

That's why my news source is Reuters and the AP News Wires.
