Costs of college are the same to men or women. If they have the grades, either can get scholarship or a loan. If there is a rich parent - the child gets money to study - regardless of if it is a boy or a girl . I do not see stripping as a requirement in any of these cases.

I have but this to say re ANY new taxes:

Tax his cow, Tax his goat; (hey now!)
Tax his pants, Tax his coat;
Tax his crop, Tax his work;
Tax his ties, Tax his shirt;
Tax his chew, Tax his smoke
Teach him taxing is no joke.
Tax his tractor, Tax his mule;
Tell him, Taxing is the rule.
Tax his oil, Tax his gas
Tax his notes, Tax his cash
Tax him good and let him know,
That after taxes, he has no dough.
If he hollers, Tax him more;
Tax him till he's good and sore.
Tax his coffin, Tax his grave,
Tax his sod in which he's laid.
Put these words upon his tomb,

"Taxes drove him to his doom."
After he's gone, we won't relax.
We'll still collect inheritance tax.

WE MUST RESIST TYRANNY.

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, And our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class In the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

And now I have to "press 1" for English.

Sex sells, and Americans are buying it at record levels every year. Now you may be saying, "So what, if you like porn then that's your right" And nobody is denying that simple truth. But what I would like people to explore and understand is the very real effect pornography has on society. It is not harmless, and can be just as dangerous as any other vice Americans are prone to indulging in.

I mean think about it, pornography is often vile and always totally immoral. Wild sexual acts are recorded for the public's viewing pleasure, all the while putting extreme content within the reach of our children. These children then gain sexual education beyond their years from porn sites, mags, etc. and in turn use this knowledge to advance their own sexual exploration. Multiple partners are encouraged while no evidence of safe sex is presented to the viewer. Young minds soak up these images, and then practice them on their own. Leading to the possibility of many life changing if not life ending problems.

Now all of that was simply to say this. We support taxation of cigarettes because most people view them as a nasty, dangerous habit that should be taxed. Well, I really don't see much of a difference between the two. So I would suggest an increase in taxes paid on pornographic material. I am sure it will do nothing to help the problem porn presents, but neither will taxing cigarettes and beer. I just feel like we should be fair about these types of luxury taxes, and spread them to all of our vices instead of a select few. Now, what do you all think?
ALL taxes are EVIL. When they propose taxing everything in our daily lives, then we will cease to have any freedom in this country. I fear that we are halfway there already. Gov't will ALWAYS find something new that they wish to fund. and since they are running out of ways to do it, the vice taxes have taken center stage. they will then find ways to tax us for having pets, eating, walking outside on public property, etc.

What?! You're blaming porn and adult entertainment for the fact that a young woman can't afford tuition at Columbia University?

I propose a total BAN on pornography. While we are at it, let's ban cigarettes as well.
As I said in the cig forum: you people are just nazis who love control. It's YOUR pornography.

Well, you're male. Why not just ask yourself. Do you think porn material changes your attitude towards women for the better?
Well, harborlady, unlike you, I don't allow a fictional movie to "change my life" or my my way of thinking. I guess we should ban looney toons, also, because your children might be stupid enough to think it's a documentary on how to behave.

what you are talking about is that the image of sex sells. legalize prostitution and let guys get their rocks off. there is nothing wrong with it. it's live and let live. keeping it illegal just creates a sub culture filled with violence and pimps. it's a profession. this country wasn't founded on legislating morals.
I agree. That subculture has led to the further degradation of women, IMO. Have you seen underground prostitutes? They're usually controlled by men who take large percentages of their money. Legal prostitution in brothels on the other hand gives women more power in that situation. They take home more of their money, get to call the shots, have security on hand, etc.. They can tell their "clients" what they will and won't do and enforce it. If the guy tries to overstep that boundary, he's out and probably getting his ass kicked. That sounds pretty powerful in controlling your own body if you ask me. The underground sounds... opposite.

How about sloth, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and pride. Mise well get it over with, that's the goal right? The goal in war fare is to attack your enemy from every angle and every possible direction. Does our government look at us as enemy combatants?

The ONE brightest female can get a scholarship. So can the ONE brightest male. Then the well runs dry because full scholarships are in short supply. Again, you missed out on a significant negative thing affecting everyone equally-- some professions require serious investments in higher learning and are grossly undercompensated. But lets not digress because that is a topic unto itself.

The second brightest female will be competing with the least brightest female on the basis of her power to charm and pleasing appearance. The second brightest male will be competing with the least brightest male on the basis of his brawn. Are you willing to acknowledge this grand scheme or not?

Your previous post attempted to rebut my positions based on a faux gender war. I'm not the enemy of men. You're attempting to deflect culpability back to women pointing at make up counters. I did not say women are innocent in their participation. I'm saying that the reward system in our culture is stacked against women of substance, against motherhood, and against values that cannot be quantified with $$$.

I'm saying both genders are being exploited wrongfully. I'm saying that the media has served as a tool of education to reprogram everyones values and through continuous bombardment of individuals, have shaped individual behaviors to their own detriment as individuals, and to our collective society as a nation. The media selling agenda are the profiteers. There is your villain.

Delta-- you crack me up!!! I feel your pain more than most realize. Because my party doesn't exist I'm thought to be ultra conservative or ultra liberal. I'm neither, but will embrace truth wherever I find it.

Reps to you. Great idea.

Looking on the net, it looks like there are politicians thinking the same things.
The heck with state tax - let's load up a Fed tax on it.
