No, they aren't slums. Most of slums aren't inner city. Strangely Houstonians try to pack as close to the city core as possible, making land prices outrageous. We have a slum side of town and slum areas, but in general, the more urban areas are going to cost major coin.
So there lays the confusion. When talking about inner city in Houston, people associate it with money. And the slum areas are heavily Hispanic, and they don't vote blue.
Same with Dallas - very expensive especially on the north and east portions of the central city. North Oak Cliff on the south side and the more-up and coming Cedars are very nice. Nearly all the Republicans were swept out of office in Dallas County a few years ago. We have a lesbian sheriff, gay county judge and county clerk, black DA, hispanic school superintendent and we almost elected a gay mayor.
I wish that Texas could find some "legal" means to secede. I'm all in favor of them seceding. I would gladly trade in our flag for one with 49 stars. Also, it's time to build that border fence. And Mr. Bush, if you enter the United States, you will be arrested.
LOL... that was funny. It's just incredible the cocoon people live in that they take this type of stuff seriously... never mind that they don't have the ability to secede on their own... but the state that voted 44% for Obama is so DEEP RED that they want to secede? LOLOL... get out of the cabin, people.
Hmmm two, not an impressive number of reversals.
Neither in an area remotely related to states rights.
