You are smarter than that right? There are plenty of moderates and liberals with R's behind their name. Lets face the main reason Bush was so despised by the left was his faith and support for the Military, other than that he bent over backwards giving democrats what they wanted.
You forgot the "lying us into a war that's killed over 4,000 Americans" part... that was the best....
He tried his best to expand the unchecked authority and executive powers of the President, including appointing 2 justices to the Supreme Court who believe in an extremely strong version of the Unitary Executive Theory.
you could, but you just make yourself sound naive. lowered the capital gains tax? well, everyone knows that when you lower the capital gains tax, government revenue goes up. everyone except for the resident idiot in the white house. a conservative would have lowered the capital gains tax to 0%. everyone knows that raising the capital gains tax doesn't not punish the wealthy, it prevents wealth.
not sure what roberts has to do with anything. you seem to be as confused as the rest of the people who can't tell the difference between a conservative and a christian conservative.
You are the naive one, as you can only argue in absolutes. Good day.
Yeah thats you're version, I did say the military. I could have elaborated and said the whole military industrial complex.
If you'll throw in that it was more his obligation to the religious right than his personal faith that motivated his "religious" gestures while in office, I'll almost take it.
You can't argue that Bush did NOTHING conservative, because he certainly did. Shrugging it off as Christian conservatism is your choice, but that doesn't make it NOT conservative. Other than that, Bush was a RINO, and I scratch my head as to why I see a lot of the far right Christian conservatives defending his every action. (That's an observation based on my locality, not this board. I haven't been around this forum to know what people here think.) Of course, where I live, if someone says they are against gay marriage and abortion, they can do anything else and will be the perfect candidate, so i'm not sure why I'm surprised. I do find it laughable when these same people cry about Obama's "socialism" while ignoring or defending all of the socialist policies of Bush.
