62% really ok with illegals????. Is that why we have defeated every attempt to give amnesty if only 38% are against amnesty He is dead wrong even in Nov it was bad in America.
Read comments on the article interesting. I wonder if obama is trying to appoint Judge Sonia Sotomayor to keep the Latino vote since they know they will not be able to give amnesty like they have promised! She is a member of the hate group La Raza as well....

November 15, 2008

Americans are “not concerned” that they may lose jobs to illegal aliens in a tight job market, according to speakers at a panel discussion conducted Thursday in Washington, D.C., by the National Council of La Raza.

Simon Rosenberg, president and CEO of NDN – formerly the New Democrat Network — said that Republicans are now “paying a steep price for demonizing Hispanics” in their “anti-immigration rhetoric” – rhetoric that he said created the “fear of losing jobs to undocumented immigrants of Americans.”

When asked if he still felt that American jobs would not be threatened by undocumented immigrants despite the fact the current unemployment rate is now at a 14-year high of 6.5 percent, Rosenberg told CNSNews.com that he believes undocumented immigrants have taken jobs that Americans “do not want,” but that there “might be” a shift in concern if unemployment rates continue to rise.

David Mermin, a partner at Lake Research Partners, a national public opinion and political strategy research firm hired by La Raza to study American voters, said 62 percent of American voters are now “more interested in converting illegal immigrants into legal taxpayers than deporting them because they might be taking jobs.”

In terms of steps to becoming “legal,” Mermin explain.

La Raza: Losing Jobs to Illegals is ‘Not a Concern’ of Americans

Not just losing jobs but forcing wages down as well.
Many jobs that were once decent pay/benefits are barely above min wage with..
No benefits now(Construction,Meat cutting,etc.
Ask the high school kid looking to start his first job but many of those are filled..
By illegal immigrants.

Yes they do force wages down. HS and college students looking for that summer job are hard hit by this.

Republican politicians don't want amnesty?

Mcamnesty ring a bell? How about W?

Politicians of all stripes want amnesty either to beef up their potential voter pool or as a favor for businesses who use illegal labor in order to make an extra buck. Either way it is a mistake to think either dems or reps are in it for the working man, they are in it for themselves and their party.
