And deep fried Snickers... and deep fried...well, anything!
Personally, fried foods and foods high in fat make me feel sluggish and gross. Every once in a while it's fine (I love me some fish and chips!) but other than that no thanks.
We have family dinners and whatnot here in California as well (fancy that) but instead of shoving fried fatty foods in our face, we do it in moderation (and with plenty of salad and veggies as well) and then usually go for a walk that evening.

I do eat green tomatoes,okra and eggplant deep fried occasionally and catfish once a week,but I'm like you...I try not to OVER eat anything deep fried anymore.
I don't have a weight problem,but I now worry about clogging my arteries.
Go to any football game tailgate in the south. Go to one in the north. Tell me what you see.
I'm telling ya its not even close. I went to an Ohio State game last year and....well I should probably just leave it at that.
Drive around downtown Charlotte in the spring/summer and see all the pretty ladies in sundresses.
Its all about the G.R.I.T.S. if you know what I mean.
