I don't buy all that "homosexuals are born that way" rhetoric. By virtue of the laws of nature, most homosexuals are born from heterosexual couples, so I don't see from were does the "homosexual gene" comes from. We could apply the same standard and say that pedophiles are born that way. Or rapists. I would have more respect for homosexuals if they just say that it is their choice and be done with it. Also, the gay festivals were men engage in public sex acts doesn't help their cause either.

It's not rhetoric. We're talking about science and decades of research.

It might not be genetic. There's increasing evidence that it has something to do with hormones. Whatever it is, it's pretty much common knowledge now that it's not something that is chosen and it cannot be changed.

Yes, people are born with certain predispositions: Musical talent, athletic ability, high intelligence, etc. I can we differentiate between behaviors that are normal and acceptable, and those that are not, even if people are born with a predisposition to acting on those behaviors.

So, you'd have more respect for them if they lied to you? Why?

I wonder if they will also repudiate therapy helping people who think they are not the sex that they actually are?

Sounds a little elitist and hateful. Did you ever think that many Christians find comfort and strength through thier religion? Why do you care what other people do and feel you have the right to label them ignorant and hateful? Why do libs always want to tell everyone else how to live? I don't condemn atheists, as they need to find thier own way in life. The only people I "hate" are people who perpetuate crime and evil. There individuals erode the contruct of society and everyone should oppose them, regardless of religious views.

Of course you can't "convert" a gay person. It is genetic. While I do not agree with the homosexual lifestyle, live and let live. It would be like changing a cat to a dog.

There is evidence that the mother produces hormones that may cause homosexuality. Its the mothers body telling you that the child shouldn't reproduce, for whatever reason.

It's not that people who are straight suddenly "turn" gay. It's that they reach a point where they have to admit to themselves that they are attracted to the same sex. Because society places a great stigma on homosexuality, it's much more likely that you'll see a straight person repressing his or her same-sex attractions than a gay person repressing his or her opposite-sex attractions.

Please tell me that you understand this.

This "lib" doesn't want to tell people how to live, but that doesn't mean I don't have opinions about things.

So a gay person can't admit to themselves that "this isn't the way to go for them" and go straight?

You're telling me it's just a oneway street?

Kinda' narrow minded isn't it?? Door only swinging one way and such...?
