Did you actually play and listen to that video, or just knee-jerk over the headline?
I watched it start to finish. I heard a calm, reasonable approach, filled with suggestions for solutions and areas that need immediate addressing. I heard him call for input from both parties and talk about meetings they're having with Republicans on some of these issues.
Would you mind pointing out the fear-mongering in that to me?

Global warming tops them all and the state run media gladly pushes the agenda that we are all going to die if we don't sign up for a stupid cap and trade system that benefits large corporations like GE and Al Gore's investments group.
That is but one of them, but of course you probably agree with Al Gore so you will feel it is valid to tell people we will all die if we don't sign up for a garbage system that will do nothing for the environment.
We all had plenty to fear when Bush was in office, especially those of us with sons. You'll notice the Rs were thrown out of Congress like drunks out of a bar in 2006 -- that should give you a little clue as to how the whole country felt about them.
And now conservatives are wanting to throw the Dems out and they are telling people why, yet somehow since you don't agree its simply fearmongering. When your side does it, its not. Got it.

And Bush was never called a fascist? Or a nazi? I think for myself, I am calling a spade a spade. I don't have to parrot anyone to realize that Obama is a socialist.
