I'm not surprised by the South, but Massachusetts surprised me. Only 29% liberal? Really?!

Only 21% of the general U.S. population considers themselves liberal.

According to the article, the conservative label actually prevails over the liberal label everywhere in the country.

Well that's been the case for years. I just thought it would have been higher in New England, since they're known for being as blue as the summer sky.

You know what's interesting - Deep South Texas is the poorest area of the state BY FAR and one of the poorest areas of the nation. It's also the most solidly Democratic part of Texas.
