So, GM's going public.... the govt is selling its stake.... Chrysler next when it can stand on its own feet .... that is so blatantly Socialist I just cant believe it.
"Next JUNE", do you know how long Henry Kravis's company has held on to Dollar General? This turnaround is happening insanely fast. If the govt wanted to hold on to the car cos would they be so anxious to get them on their feet and out of the way?
What are you trying to argue? That the government selling their ownership in GM proves they are not socialists? BZZZZZ Fail...
Have you even looked up the definition of socialism?
p.s. I dont care how long individuals held onto Dollar General or any other company.. Kravis is not the government, they did not use tax payer money, we're talking about GM and who owns it.. Government ownership for one second = socialism PERIOD..

The point about poky little DG and KKR is to contrast that with the speed of light with which the monstrous GM turnaround is being effected.
"That the government selling their ownership in GM proves they are not socialists?" -- !!!!!! ah, that would be an indicator, yes.

I can turn around any company in this world if I use and abuse bankruptcy laws to screw investors and stock holders out of equity and then give away another 10+% to the unions who contributed to me gaining ownership... You list screwing billions of investors out of their money as if its an accomplishment that one should be proud of...
As for your selling GM proving they are not socialists, WRONG, if they were not socialists they wouldnt own it to begin with..
Again, owning it AT ALL = socialism, which by shear definition is advocating ownership or taking possession of private companies..

Um, where did I do that?
That is NOT why the unions wound up owning their share of GM and surely you know that somewhere.

the screwing of the investors, because the only way you can applaud the speed of light for the turnaround is by ignoring how it was done...

Its EXACTLy why the unions wound up owning their share of GM because under bankruptcy laws, union get zero and their contracts are voided, and stock holders get equity. Thats exactly opposite of what happened with GM, stop ignoring facts and pretending to be stupid...

why do you pretend that you think it was some simple, cartoon sitcom game, black and white? as a trader you know better. I dont feel like looking up the dozens of article s that lay out why the Obama Admin made the decisions it did.
