I read the prepared speech and it seems fine to me. Remember, though, that they did remove some things, so yes, it'll look different now than it did originally.
And here we go. The speech is ok now, but it was going to be really sinister (no, really it was!!!) until we started the hysteria. Good thing we did that! We saved the children of America whose parents don't care enough to keep them home from school because of the President's speech!!!! Woohooooo!!!

Buford might decide to keep his kids home, anyway. He doesn't want to "lose face" in the trailer park. Little Bubba : "hey daddy. Kin we go fishin' ? I'm scairt of them big words."

I saw the WMD worksheets and I was most certainly not horrified.

Oh stop already. I haven't seen anyone complain about THIS speech. If someone comes here to rip it, then proceed to bash them if you want to. What I read there has no "communist" sounding rhetoric. I think its pretty good as a matter of fact. It seems that those who wish to continually bash people who were initially frightened by suggested "assignments", which people should have been frightened by, has no connection to this thread at all. Attack people who criticize this speech if they emerge, otherwise you are attacking people who don't yet exist.

As a side note, he could have left out the environmental and social justice crap that he alludes to which has nothing to do with a speech on education and responsiblity. Otherwise the speech is great. Even with my extreme level of hatred of this man, I find nothing troubling about this speech.

No....no....wait....wait.... That's not the real speech, that's just a Trojan horse speech to pacify the parents into letting the kids go to school. Then tomorrow, when all the little kiddies are listening, he will give another speech and turn them all into fascist communistic socialists.

Frightened by what? Environmental and social justice crap? I'd say that the environment and social justice are important issues that the younger generation will inherit. Science and social studies has always been part of a school's curriculum.
