Last nights speech sounded great! How could anyone disagree with lower premiums, no denial of coverage and 100% coverage? But he did not mention one word about how to pay for it. He didn't even target the uber rich for tax hikes.
I think last nights speach was just another pie in the sky ramble without any specifics. Anybody can propose things, it's paying for them where they get into trouble. Government or business or our personal lives.
He said they would cut out wasteful spending and administration cost in Medicaid, Medicare and the overall healthcare system. The government is going to reduce administration cost and show Healthcare Systems how to cut cost and still provide quality healthcare at affordable costs?!!
In all my years I have never know any government agency to operate within those guidelines. Also, a lot of hospital systems are "for profit". If there was a way to reduce operating cost while improving quality of care - they would have found it by now.
I have a dear friend that is a CFO of a healthcare organization and have myself worked in the industry for 7 years as a financial analyst of sorts and the number one eater of resources and time is meeting the Government Imposed compliance issues. And it is usually government regulations concerning medicare/aid that tie their hands when trying to provide quality care.
It is laughable that the government is going to fix this situation. They need to get a panel of healthcare administrators with Accounting Backgrounds to explain the real problems and try to come up with solutions.

It is an outright lie. Out of everything Obama said and did not say last night the biggest lie was about the cost. There is no way around funding a Government program like this without spending taxpayer dollars. Sorry I am not buying it.
Good luck to all you who believe the BS you were handed last night. I am completely sick of it from all sides.
