Why would you say that, we are in America we like to stifle opposition and free speech. Support our Communist manifesto or you too will be boycotted.

Some people need a life... one that is full of diversity.

And you'd be surprised at the agendas they push...when I saw Selena Gomez wearing a "rock the vote" shirt I was like "can she even vote" She was very vocal in the last election, even saying she felt people under 18 should be allowed to vote. Made me wonder how many of her fans rushed to booths wearing Selena & Barack shirts

I love Hollywood movies, but I hate that the fact that the democrtas keep pandering to them. FDR must be rolling in his grave. The Dem should be the party of the people not freakin Hollywood, and I don't think Obama's helping either.

You're not the only one. I'm a lefty who has great respect for Clint Eastwood as a director, but I just didn't enjoy Gran Torino (saw it this weekend). The acting just wasn't up to par for an Eastwood movie, IMHO.

There are plenty of celebrities whom I don't find entertaining or whose personalities I just don't like. My response is to not watch their shows or movies. Works wonders for me.

I can't imagine boycotting "Conservative" celebrities because I disagree with them politically.

No she can't vote, I think she's only 16. LOL, well at least she's way more aware of politics & news than I was at that age.

SNL skit on obama's list of accomplishments - Priceless!

Those frisky repubs..."hate Hollywood types"/"Love Hollywood types(like RONALD REAGAN, )"

And who's to determine when somebody "knows what they're talking about"? Would a celebrity with a Ph. D. in macroeconomics be acceptable as a participant in political debate? Who gets to determine?

What part of that led you to the conclusion that there was a qualification requirement for participation in political debate?
Celebrity. Takes part in debate, as in interested citizen should. Yet some seem to insist that this is inappropriate because he/she isn't sufficiently qualified (as in "doesn't know what she's talking about").

The problem we have now is that Paris Hilton or Selena Gomez will say “you should do this” and then people will actually run out and do it because the all-knowing celeb said so.
Or Joe the Plumber, or anti-vaccination bimbo Jennifer McCarthy, to name a few know-nothings who can raise my blood pressure a notch. So you counterdebate. Insisting that people remain quiet runs counter to what democracy should be about.

Entertainers are there for your entertainment; they should not be role models for your children, they should not be the base for political foundations, they should not be your personal stylist. You should watch their movies, listen to their albums and then promptly forget about them.
Entertainers are citizens as well. When they're not in make-up, they have every right to speak. We can decry that they get a bigger audience than people who actually study economics or foreign policy, but those are the breaks. I'm quite happy when people who - for better or worse - are role models take a freakin' interest in politics. I wish more people would.

But people on the left nd right have every right to boycott whatever they feel is just. I haven't set foot in a Slave Mart for ten years, even though I haven't noticed any closing for the lack of my patronage.

Apparently not when you decide your answer is the only one that matters

Ok I guess maybe we watch different celebs because I've saw several during the election who were touting their horns for Obama and it was clear they knew nothing other than his name, his party and his race.

Yes entertainers are citizens as well. However, if the pizza delivery guy was to try to debate with you on UHC or foreign policy most people would think "what does he know...he's the pizza guy" but wow let some random celeb say it and it's the gospel truth.

Yes it would be great if they took an interest in politics; enough of an interest to actually be able to talk about who they are supporting and why. Saying "Obama is going to make history and I think that's exciting." is not showing an interest in politics.
