Apparently Halliburton 'contract of employment' for overseas jobs (like Iraq) fine print prohibits employees from raising a law-suit if they get raped. This (on the video) woman was gang-raped by her fellow Halliburton co-workers and when she wanted to sue, they waved the fine print in her face. These are government contracts we're talking about, and when the issue was brought up in Congress the Republicans were opposed to changing the contracts. Why? Because they say government should have no role in saying what the contracts should say. Well, these are tax-payer funded government contracts, so HELLLOOO. One must wonder why the Republicans, Glenn Becks and Limbaughs are to enraged about ACORN, but not Halliburton...hmmmmm, why would that be..... How come they don't even mention Halliburton? Now, wouldn't that be a juicy story for Glenn Beck if he was a non-partisan political entertainer? I know it would be juicy if the link between the president and Halliburton was about Obama-Halliburton, not Bush-Halliburton.

Don't even try and make a claim to moral outrage here. When leftist/liberal/progressives stop accommodating rapists because of their 'art', e.g. Roman Polanski, or threatening political opponents with rape, e.g. Sandra Bernhardt, the Left might have some credibility. But until liberals quit seeing rape as nothing more than a political tool and an actual crime do us all a favor: stow the faux outrage.

Was there a congressional vote about Polaski? I didn't hear about that.

I think it is outrageous the congressional Republicans defend the rape clause in Halliburton/government contracts while pretending to be outraged about ACORN. The hell with ACORN too, but let's try to be consistent here as opposed to being a bunch of raving hypocrites all the time.

Don't even try to insinuate that all the entertainers supporting Polanski represent Liberals or the Left. It's as ludicrous as saying that the KKK represents all Republicans. I don't know of one person who actually agrees with the Polanski supporters, not one, I have only read about them. The case that the OP raises is an important one, back on topic.

1. This is not about Polaski.

2. Hollywood actors have nothing to do with this topic or congressional Democrats, and they do not represent anyone except themselves. They do not have a vote in Congress.

3. KKK has nothing to do with this topic.

You are putting in an awful lot of effort trying to divert the discussion away from the topic.

The bigger topic is the accommodation liberals make for rapists they happen to agree with politically and their use of rape as a political tool. Sorry you can't deal with the hypocrisy of your side on the issue.

Actually I was responding to ZGACK, and trying to get the topic back on track, not diverting anything if you actually read my response.

I took a break and got the two of you confused. All those "Z"s... I thought I was talking to the same person.
