So what this thread tells me is that no one has taken any guns from you, even though you all claim that's what is going to happen. Sorry, but weapons that you COULD own if it weren't illegal doesn't count my friends so you can quit the hypothesizing, it does nothing for your argument. This is awesome, none of you can claim that anyone has taken your guns. So, what exactly is the problem here?
Excuse me? There are many items I would own right now if it weren't for the government...a full auto AK for instance, an MG42, and many items. They have even taxed little items like the old NAA wallet holster out of reach of most because of the 68 GCA. I'd have silencers on almost every gun I own to protect my fragile hearing if it weren't for the government.
Don't forget a Vulcan, Gatling Gun, no home should be without one of them

Dead wrong. When the government makes something illegal it takes it and the freedom to do it or own it away.
But the operational word is still Confiscated. That requires that you already had one in your possesion
The thread says taken not confiscated.
But many guns have been confiscated. The short, not very well publicized "amnesty" in 1934 and then 1968 when they required many items to be registered that never had to be, resulted in many items over the years being confiscated.

If it was never there, what are you missing? I'd really like a bag of plutonium, unfortunately I'm unable to get it. Does that mean it was taken from me? I don't think so.

But it was. In my lifetime brand new machineguns were quite legal for people to buy. In my grandparents' days, no weapon was illegal to own in this country.
