They want a "formal" apology? What good is an apology when the guy obviously doesn't like homosexual behavior? Why should he apologize for booting them out of the cab? An empty apology is nothing more than a lie, what good would that do? The guy should be fined and he should go to a culture class. If he doesn't want to serve the public then he needs to find a new job.
And what pray tell have YOU been seen go on inside a cab that's so much more than "hugging".
The guy has a problem with gays hugging and the gay guys want him to apologize because he finds homosexuality detestable?
I can hear that one... Cabbie to Gay guys: "I'm sorry that you're gay".
So would you feel the same if you were booted out of the cab because you were unescorted by a male relative? (I think I remember you saying you were female at one time..) Would you feel so sanguine about this if he kicked a nice born again christian out of his cab for wearing a crucifix and wanting to 'share' how all muslims can be saved?

#1. I'm not going to live in a society where I have to be escorted around by a male relative so that situation will never happen in my lifetime.
#2. It's not illegal to dislike homosexuality, Muslims, or Christians.
#3. An empty apology is a lie and not going to "make it all better".
He has no class or tact to throw someone out of his cab because they're gay and embracing. It's against the rules and he should be fined and if that isn't enough he should find a new line of work. Nothing more and nothing less.
LOL so there is no such thing as tolerance of your intolerance of religious people or their beliefs? Left wingers are so filled with hypocrocy!
I tolerate religious people all day long..I do not think poorly of you or anyone for being religious...
if being tolerant of your religion means I must follow it's teachings and agree that it's teaching be adopted into public policy.. then you don't properly grasp the idea of what intolerance and disagreement are.
I can disagree with religion, but that doesn't mean I support laws in restricting religion in this country
but you are the one that disagrees with gay marriage but actually takes it a step further in supporting laws to ban it with total disregard of how and who your vote is hurting
I dunno.. seems you are either thick skulled or lack any real social skills in being able to see someone else's point of view..
whichever is the case... I think it's pretty apparent to anyone that is sensible who is being intolerant and who is simply able to disagree respectfully...

I'm sorry, I read your other post that you were excusing the cab drivers behavior --- sorry about that.
The New York City cab driver accused of booting a gay couple from his car for hugging said he was terrified the men were about to have sex, and his boss added that the situation was especially difficult for a Muslim cabbie to handle.
It's possible the cabby would have done the same thing to a heterosexual couple. A public display of affection between heterosexuals is a no-no in most strict Islamic countries.
Personally, I can't see a heterosexual couple crying "discrimination" in the same situation.
