Varies city to city. In AC back then I think it was 40k. In NY, I think it's now over a couple of hundred thousand.

Kick this guy out of the country!
Ironically, isn't hugging a part of the normal way of greeting one another in Muslim (and other) cultures?

Yes. And I don't even want to think about those pictures of George W. Bush kissing the Sheik.

Somewhere near Kabul Afganistan, there's a warlord with his very own dancing twink: Ignored by society, Afghan dancing boys suffer centuries-old tradition - CNN.com

Very interesting how homosexual interests exist even in highly homophobic countries, although the way in which those interests manifest themselves is often through subversive and violent means.

Both men want a formal apology from the driver, and say they believe hacks should be put though more rigorous sensitivity training.

"He's in the wrong place and in the wrong line of work if he doesn't have an open and tolerant attitude," said Bruno, adding, "I've seen a lot more go on in taxis than hugging."
They want a "formal" apology? What good is an apology when the guy obviously doesn't like homosexual behavior? Why should he apologize for booting them out of the cab? An empty apology is nothing more than a lie, what good would that do? The guy should be fined and he should go to a culture class. If he doesn't want to serve the public then he needs to find a new job.

And what pray tell have YOU been seen go on inside a cab that's so much more than "hugging".

The guy has a problem with gays hugging and the gay guys want him to apologize because he finds homosexuality detestable?

I can hear that one... Cabbie to Gay guys: "I'm sorry that you're gay".

Very early in the article the cabbie's name, Medhat Mohamed shows up. The name tells me that he must be Mohammedan and they don't believe in that kind of activity. I don't know whose rights were more violated in that incident. I bet those two knew about what Muslims think about that kind of behavior. They could have been testing him, I think.

Seriously, I believe the cabby had a right to believe as he wished but I think he should have said one display of affection like that you can get by with but if you do it again you will be looking for a ride. Somehow we all have rights and I just don't know who gets theirs in that situation. I would really like to know how this thing ends up.
