The fact they lost and will likely not receive federal funding in the future would suggest that "low budget" western was a smashing success!

What they have received was federal contracts for carrying out programs established by Congress as part of the mandate of the HUD Secretary to conduct housing and other programs in the urban minority and low-income communities that ACORN serves. All the "ban" accomplishes is to make ineligible for that work one of the most qualified, most reliable, and most affordable contractors that HUD had for these programs. Smart move, huh...
No, that would be a horrible analogy. Nobody at Macy's is telling sales associates to shoplift, and nobody at ACORN is telling canvassers to submit bogus registration cards.
Through policy of unrealistic requirements they are in fact causing the issues they've brought upon themselves.
You can glean some facts from those types of sites.
There's some interesting tidbits on the anti-walmart sites about how they can sell their drugs so cheap (import from company that has had numerous run-ins with the FDA). Now that is verifiable via the FDA site but if you posted that anti-walmart site the walmart lovers are all over you.
So, go and verify a few of those posting and see if they are real.
Don't just make judgement based on the site's domain name.
Rachel Maddow would be very glad to provide all she has about the lies about ACORN. Of course, she could be the liar and not ACORN.
Let me get this straight. You are claiming to be naive enough to believe that ACORN managers are encouraging canvassers to submit voter registration cards for Mickey Mouse in the hope that an actual registrar will actually record that registration, and that somebody can later go into an actual polling place, announce that he is Mickey Mouse, and actually be allowed to vote. Is that your story???

Well, if you didn't know any better, you might think that. But maybe the "something else" to talk about is the ease with which ideas can be planted in right-wingers' heads. The anti-ACORN campaign is a false-front, like some weathered saloon in a low-budget western. But you all won't walk around back to see that the facade is just being propped up for the time being by some skimpy assortment of two-by-fours...
I think that the ACORN lies about what they stand for is the movie facade here.
