Obama won't accept any of the war options before him without changes, as concerns soar over the ability of the Afghan government to secure its own country

President Obama is sending the troops, so much for the thought presented here. He is reducing the troop levels in Iraq at a steady rate and he being smart when he thinks through all the options before just jumping in with both feet, that is what created the mess in the first place. Hopefully we will be out of Iraq in the next couple of years, looks to be the case. Afganistan is going to be trouble, the job of hunting down the terrorists is not an easy one but at least we are now focusing on it once again, it was let to simmer for far to long by the previous administration. I hope we can accomplish the mission in Afganistan in a timely manner and get out as soon as possible. Afganistan by its nature is not an easy nut to crack, and just simply sending more troops may not be the only or best answer, ask the Russians, they keep raising they troop levels but the results were not changed. I am glad we now have a President that thinks before just acting, and am more than a little pleased to see that diplomacy is back in vouge, a talent Dubya did not get from his father. Maybe now we can work on the source of the issues verses just treating the results of poor choices.

woudl Iraq have stablized if the surge of troops was denied? At the time of the surge harry Reid had said Iraq was lost and we shoudl not wais tmore tropps. Could we be withdrawing troops now had not the surge of troops worked?
Are we better as antion to have a democratic Iraq in place?

Actually he was advised by Colin Powell not choose one until the Generals were specific in their exit strategy.
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me......Why do you promote more war?
Reps don't deal in exit strategies. They stay where they go forever with no plan for anything..See Iraq and uhh Afghanistan..Obama will be working the mop cleaning up Dubya's mess for a long time.
