Where did I pretend there is nothing wrong with some bridges? I just told you that some of them in Pittsburgh are CLOSED because they are in such bad shape.

11% TOTAL not adaquate means SOME of them need work, and SOME Of them are fine, but just need larger capacity..

I said that 11% arent adaquate doesnt mean that 11% of them are destined for failure.. YOU are the one who made that argument, YOU are wrong, as always..

Dont you ever wonder how you miss so much of peoples conversations that you spent 1/2 your time here arguing that people said things they never said?

Single payer option would have addressed this problem, ACA is making it easier for the uninsured get insured. You seem to forget that fact.

That percentage should be below 1% at any given time.

Says who?

I could suggest that the percentage of people on welfare should be below 1% at any given time, and I'm sure you'll disagree..

Arguing with Bots is a fool's errand.

They're Bots - brainwashed and unable to think.

Much of it has. What you see is only a part of what needs doing. Much more is still being left to wear away or rot. Many interstate highways have worn the surface down to the substrate. Thousands of obsolete bridges and interchanges are still not replaced or brought up to safe standards. New highways and/or widening of lanes isn't done for lack of funds. Mass transit is only a shadow of what it should be.

The Federal gasoline tax of 18.4 cents per gallon has not been raised since 1993; in the intervening 20 years that fund has lost 1/3 of its buying power as it was never indexed for inflation. Raising it to where it should be and indexing it for future inflation will help a lot to replace and repair highways; but since that would be equivalent to a "jobs bill" the GOP/TEA crowd won't go for it - until they get back into office, if ever. In the mean time, GOP/TEA politicians, and the billionaires who bankroll them, don't give a damn if you beat the living hell out of your car by driving on roads that suck, nor do they care if you die on those roads. Vote GOP/TEA at your own risk.

That 18.4 cents, actually generates 30 billion a year, which is 85% of the federals transportation budget.

If we now need "trillions" on infrastructure spending, then how much a year should we really be spending total? Dont forget, the lion share of roads are state funded..

When you see pictures of FDR's works project, you see pictures of hundreds of men with shovels on their hands building roads. When you drive past road construction today, what do you see? Some pieces of heavy equipment and a handful of workers. A lot of money goes onto leasing equipment and other things, not paying a whole bunch of workers.
