Democratic party is a big tent party many dems can win or lose at any election so have to vote like Reps. half the time if they want to keep their cushy job.
Almost all Republicans left are in areas where the racist vote(aka base) will keep them in office no matter they do . Simple really, one has to be simple and/or phony not to see this.

That is some pretty messed up rationalization. Don't you remember the Democratic primaries? Claims (quite justifiable) of voting along racial lines were rife. Basically, the dems that supported Hillary were racists...like West Virginia.
I mean, Obama's own supporters made your same claims against about 1/2 the democratic party.

You sound just like the people that had BDS (Bush Derangment Syndrome). There were so many threads and posts here about how Bush was going to abolish term limits, round people up in FEMA camps, use the patriot act to arrest Democrats...blah blah blah.

WRONG... If ANYBODY can show me in the United States Constitution where 60 votes is required to pass legislation in the US Senate, I will go along. Except for veto overrides, 51 votes is ALL that is needed to pass any bill. Reid can FOOL people by saying "60 votes are required" but most of us know he is a LIAR as is anybody who says this.
