Senate Republicans failed early Friday in their bid to filibuster a massive Pentagon bill that funds the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, an unusual move designed to delay President Obama's health-care legislation.
33 GOP Senators voted to block the funding. Why don't they love America?
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) cited the roughly 1,800 earmarks in the bill worth $4.2 billion in explaining his opposition, but most others were blunt in their rational for opposing the military legislation.
"I don't want health care," Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) said Thursday evening.
At least Brownback is honest - he doesn't care about our troops; he only cares about defeating health care reform ... and that means he cares more about the profits of insurance companies than he cares about the health of the people of this country.

Who is responsible for using this bill to leverage all those earmarks?
Thats the real shame.
Actually th poster decieves. The repubs want the money for the troops but, do not want money to to transfer the gitmo prisoners to the states. Typical cherry picking fro the left.
Democrats denying funding for troops is a bad thing.
Republicans denying funding for troops is okay, because they must have a good reason.
Do I have that right? I confess I often have trouble with double standards.
You only seem to have a problem with Republicans having double standards. This is double standards for both parties, but its the democrats who had power before, and still hold power over funding the troops
This is a prime example as to what the hells wrong with Washington and how many outside the beltway have no clue, but use things like this to attack "the other party" while ignoring that their own party does the EXACT same thing..
Payback is a biotch. Did Democrats really think the GOP had forgotten how they acted during Bush's tenure?
The troops will get their money. Period.
This is all about healthcare.
