The political action committee behind the Tea Party Express (TPE) -- which already has been slammed as inauthentic and corporate-controlled by rival factions in the Tea Party movement -- directed almost two thirds of its spending during a recent reporting period back to the Republican consulting firm that created the PAC in the first place.

Sorry teabaggers, but the teabagging is not a grassroots movement.

In your opinion. Tell that to the folks that marched on Washington in protest of disgusting wasteful spending going on in gov't. Tell that to the citizens who went to the town hall meetings to voice their disgust over the healthcare reform bills.

So what if they have political funding from like minded PAC's?

This is great. Once again the simple folk are exploited by the big business Republican elites. When are you going to realize you're being used by your toolmasters? Ever wonder why your fundamentalist agenda never gets enacted but tax cuts for the wealthy do?

Actually the original "Tea Party" was a grassroots movement started by a single man to support the election campaign of Ron Paul. It was to be a money bomb on the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.

This was later hijacked by corporate sponsored anti-Obama behemoth who slapped "grassroots" on it and sold it to anyone and everyone who would listen. The use of "Tea Party" is strategic in that it sounds patriotic and associates todays environment with that earlier event.

This will backfire on the GOP. They will end up with their version of a "Nader" spoiler in 2012 -- that spoiler will either be an independent or run on the Libertarian ticket.

I don't know about you but I happen to know what TPMMuckraker is and this is just some more of their left leaning deflection.

This is sad, it just shows how easily we can be fooled, just like Hope and Change Americans line up to be a part of something they feel is positive and it is nothing more than political masterbation, it might feel good, but it accomplishes nothing but keeping one busy for a little while. For a second there, I actually thought the tea party movements might worthwhile, and actually stand for liberty and such, while I don't doubt the sincerity of most of the participants, it sucks to see them duped again by big government.

First of all you may not be aware but the term teabagging was concocted by homosexuals for one of their gay sex acts (confirmed by lame stream news).

If you are refering to the tax protesters you are very wrong. The ones I have attended were completely grassroots and had no contact with any Republican group. There were people there from Democrat to Independent to no affilation with any party.

As a matter of fact I could care lees if the Tax Tea Protesters were connected to the Republican party. Whatever gets people together to protest hussein obamas criminal administration, I am all for it.
