So they better believe in God, or else? Huh?

And I'm not sure what you mean by threatening them for just "stepping one foot" into your state. New Mexico isn't exactly a highly religious state. There are plenty of atheists there.

What did you expect? Scoot is just like everyone elses who states they are a Christian and then threatens or judges other people. You know?

Jesus is very proud of him.

I'm not a dogmatic religious person at all, but believe in the existence of a God pretty damn firmly. Being from the South, I actually laughed out loud when I clicked on the percentage of people per state who believe in God. I realize the stereotypes that abound about southern people, but I am one. I know the mindset that exists here, and the ins and outs of the society. It is a positive aspect of our lives, and a positive on the community. I am not a Christian. I am a southerner.

Maine was interesting considering their vote on same-sex marriage.

I just find it funny looking at how religious these states are and how their quality of life pretty much sucks.
Mississippi ranks pretty low in a lot of things (or high...depending on how you look at it...high in poverty, high in teen pregnancy, etc) but hey...god is helping them through it all.

Quality of life is generally measured materially. Believe me, we're fine.

So you're saying having the highest pregnancy rate is good?
Having the lowest % of residents with college degrees is good?
Having the high rate of obesity is good?

Of course I see you're from Georgia. Did you used to live in MS?

No offense intended, of course.

Many things really are subjective. Who has decided what is good for a human beings happiness? You? You feel like you live in hell according to your profile. I am quite happy. What would you trade about your current situation to change that? What qualifications have you come up with to judge your fellow man? Have fun with that.

You can keep posting that link all you want but last I checked it didn't say 100% of the people in the south are happy.

I don't have all day to list what I'd like to change that would make me happy but it would be nice to have a single-payer health care system in this country but that's a totally different thread.

It's good to see some people in this screwed up country of ours is happy. Where exactly did you get your rose colored glasses? I might need to start making payments on some.
