No, we can't do that because 1/3 of the country would fit under that category of religious extremist. If you implicate their leader Pat Robertson then you are essentially implicating them.

Pat Robertson is a doddering old fool. Does anyone besides 'Christy' actually pay any attention to him??

Feminism encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians.
-- Pat Robertson - speech at GOP Presidential Convention (1992)

Ah ole Pat, you can always count on him to stretch a smile.

Just some more silly generalization. Evangelicals are NOT all like Robertson. Take a minute and find out who gives the most to charity? Who are the first to step up and help the homeless? Who supports hospitals and orphanages around the world? Who were the biggest group of volunteers to help out during Katrina and help with the re-building in NO to this very day? Evangelicals, that's who. Yes, there are some who are nuts, some that are corrupt, some that don't practice what they preach. There are those in every religion as well as some who are athiest. But to lump all Evangelicals together and dismiss them is just blind prejudice.

The founder of the modern Liberal movement (Jimmy Carter) was an evangelical Christian.

Cite for "founder of the MLM..."?

he still is an evangelical Christian I believe.

He's not a televangelist.

After more than 60 years together, Jimmy Carter has announced himself at odds with the Southern Baptist Church -- and he's decided it's time they go their separate ways. Via Feministing, the former president called the decision "unavoidable" after church leaders prohibited women from being ordained and insisted women be "subservient to their husbands." Said Carter in an essay in The Age. - July 2009

A wonderful, smart man - what he did with "Habitat for
Humanity" is to be commended

What can't be overlooked on many posts...the reluctance to level any criticism at Robertson. To some he is a hero, regardless of what he says.

The scary part is this man actually ran for President, and s segment of the voters backed him.
